Zaina Foundation in collaboration with partners continue advocate for civic space using technology to different groups of stakeholders include young activists, marginalized women and women journalists in Dar es salaam, Arusha, Dodoma, Pwani, Monduli, Simanjiro, Loliondo, Bagamoyo etc.

We thank government of Tanzania for signed a new law on Personal Data Protection Act of 2022

Zaina Foundation as champion on Rights to Privacy in Tanzania shall continue advocacy on this new act and raise awareness among women to understand and adopt this new law; its regulation will be published anytime for practices.

 

Since January 2023 Zaina Foundation continues to advocate for gender equality in Digital technology and Innovation, by promoting digital rights and inclusion in Tanzania in order to bridge the gender gap in innovation and technology. Through the implementation of different programs such as Digital Voice for young women activists, Digital safety training for women journalists, Localization and translation of secure communication tools and digital safety training for marginalised women in Tanzania are the efforts of bridging the gender gap in Technology and Innovation. From January to March of 2023 Zaina ZF Newsletter 1st Quarter 2023 FinalFoundation implemented its mission and vision in various activities:

  1. Digital Voice Project

January 12-14, 2023 Zaina Foundation conducted Digital Voice training of young women activists at the University of Arusha with a total of fifty students who trained about digital rights and how civic space in Tanzania can be expanded by using technology among young women activists. ZF addressed the issue of Online Gender Based Violence and how it affected participation of young women in online platforms in Tanzania.  Through this training ZF established the Digital Rights Club of University of Arusha which will be sustainable in advocating for digital rights and access to information using technology in a safe environment for young activists in Tanzania…….  Click link below to read full news letter
